There is a big controversy now surrounding short term rentals in downtown San Diego. Most downtown San Diego condos will not allow less than a 30 day minimum rental so the new startup
Pillow would not be allowed. Pillow is a technology-driven hospitality service that plans to begin offering in San Diego on June 23rd. They manager all of the offline chores such as cleaning, guest turnover and maintenance and key exchanges. The website is suppose to reflect the going rate which will be adjusted according to the times offered. Then they give a check to the owners. The challenge is that none of the downtown San Diego condos will allow anything less than 30 days with the exception of Park at 10th (7 days). About half of the buildings require at least 30 day and the other half 6 month minimum. Theoretically this could still work for people that want to come for a month at a time. Let me know if you have interest because we have the list of minimum lease periods for each complex.

Speaking of rentals we just listing this wonderful Laurel Bay condo in Banker's Hill just 1 block to Balboa. It is spacious with awesome hardwood floors, quartz counters and stainless appliances, a storage space and 2 separate parking spots! I love the complex because it has lower HOA's, a pool, spa, fitness, 2 amenity rooms and an herb garden. This is an excellent investment and sure to go fast. Take a look at
Laurel Bay #312 just listed for
$389,900 and let me know if you hear of anyone with interest.
