Can getting around San Diego get any easier?  It just has with the addition of the free service called FRED.  Acronym for Free Rides Everywhere Downtown.  Get the app here  It's paid for by parking meter revenue and features 15 -5 person green vehicles.  The City hopes that sponsorship on the vehicles will completely fund the program in the future.  Hours are 7 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 7 to midnight Friday, 8 to midnight Sat, and 9 to 9 on Sunday.  The Service runs from East Village to Little Italy.  I just used it for the first time.  It said 12 minutes but it was about 3.  I picked it up at The Grande on Pacific Hwy and took it over to The Pinnacle on Front.  It was fast, free and fun!  Give it a try.
